A charge card is different to credit and debit cards in that there is no pre-set spending limit, and no interest as you pay your account balance in full with each statement. A Diners Club charge card allows you to manage your expenses and earn rich reward points, and gives you access to a wide range of features and benefits.
Providing a World MasterCard® Card gives us more ways to reward our cardholders, by giving them the opportunity to earn more reward points and enjoy more benefits.
Your World MasterCard Card is a charge card and operates in the same way as the Diners Club Card, with no interest as you pay your full balance each month. Charges are payable on receipt of your account and you won't pay any default fees if you pay within 14 days (if you have a Frequent Flyer Diners Club Card Only) or 7 days (if you have a Frequent Flyer Diners Club Card and World MasterCard® Card) of your statement issue date.

You will be issued with a single PIN which you can use for both cards.
You will have one statement showing individual transactions made on each card. You can also register to view your accounts and transactions online.
One annual fee applies to both the Frequent Flyer Diners Club and World MasterCard® Card. This is due annually on the anniversary of the account activation date.
Yes, you can choose to pay by cheque, BPAY, use your local post office or have a direct debit set up on your account. If you have a Frequent Flyer Diners Club card with companion World MasterCard® Card, Direct Debit is mandatory.
You have one account, with one statement and all transactions accumulate towards one balance. Each month you will need to make one single payment on your account.
The transaction fee on the Diners Club Card is 3% on the Australian dollar conversion of any transaction made in foreign currency. On the World MasterCard® Card this is 3.4%.
Points earned on your Diners Club Card and World MasterCard® Card are added together and are all allocated to your account when you pay the full balance at the end of each month.
You can maximise your points earning by having a World MasterCard card on your account. The Frequent Flyer Diners Club card with World MasterCard card gives you higher points earning on the Diners Club card plus you can use the World MasterCard at any merchants who do not currently accept Diners Club cards. You can also earn one additional Qantas Frequent Flyer point per $1 of eligible spend on selected Qantas purchases.
An additional Qantas Frequent Flyer point per dollar is earned if the specified products and services are purchased using your Frequent Flyer Diners Club Card directly from Qantas in Australia (i.e. where Qantas, and not its agent, is identified as the merchant on the card transaction). Selected Qantas products and services include (a) Qantas passenger flights (with a QF number), booked directly with Qantas or some travel agents; and (b) Qantas Club and Qantas Frequent Flyer membership. Excludes purchases from Qantas Freight, Qantas Holidays, Qantas Staff Travel, Qantas Travel customer shop fronts, JetsetTravelworldchannels, the Jetstargroup, Qantas Business Travel, and other Qantas branded goods and services provided by third parties such as Qantas Box Office, Qantas Frequent Flowers or Qantas Valet Parking. The extra points are earned and added to the Account Holder's Qantas Frequent Flyer account in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Frequent Flyer Diners Club Rewards program (please call 1300 139 520 or visit dinersclub.com.au for a copy) and subject to payment being made within payment terms.
Regular payment1 arrangements are an agreement between you (the cardholder) and the Merchant. You should keep a record of all regular payment arrangements you have established with your Merchant and store in a safe place. A template for recording your regular payment arrangements is available from the Australian Payments Clearing Association website apca.com.au.
You are responsible for notifying the Merchant when you want to cancel your regular payment or when your account details change, including a change in card number and/or change of card expiry date. Until you notify the Merchant, Diners Club is required to process transactions from the Merchant. Use this link to generate a change in account details letter to your Merchant. We recommend you keep a copy of any cancellation or change in account details letter sent to your Merchant and your earlier regular payment agreements. This correspondence will be required if your Merchant does not comply with your request in a timely manner and you decide to dispute2 any incorrectly-charged payments.
1. What is a regular payment? Regular payments can be either a recurring payment or an instalment payment. A regular payment represents an agreement between you (the cardholder) and a Merchant in which you preauthorise the Merchant to bill your card account at predetermined intervals (e.g. monthly or quarterly) or at intervals as agreed by you. The amount may differ or be the same for each transaction.
For example, you may ask your local gymnasium to charge your monthly gym membership fee to you card each month; or you may have purchased a new television from your local appliance store and are being billed by the Merchant in subsequent multiple periods.
There are many benefits for cardholders who set up regular payments, including:
a) Ensures timely payment to the Merchant;
b) Saves you time as the payment is processed automatically; and
c) Saves you money as you do not have to pay for cheques, money transfers or postage nor will you be liable for late fees.
2. Customer's right to dispute. Any issues with your regular payments, including failure of the Merchant to act on a change details advice, should be taken up directly with your Merchant first. If you require further assistance to resolve an issue between you and a Merchant, please contact Diners Club on 1300 360 060 for more information.
